Salt Island is a small island in between Peter Island and Cooper Island obviously named after its three salt ponds. Tours from Salt Island Bay will allow you to visit the ponds from up close. The most famous highlight on the island is the RMS Rhone. This Royal Mail Steamer which sank by a hurricane in 1867 is one of the best wreck dives in the British Virgin Island. Barracudas, rays, turtles, grunts and plenty of reef fish are popular encounters while scuba diving or snorkeling around Salt Island.
